Job summary

Osborne Appointments is recruiting a Van Driver in St Albans for a full-time role. You will drive a long wheelbase van, perform deliveries and collections mainly within Central London and the M25, with occasional UK travel. Loading/unloading, vehicle checks, and driving safely are essential.

The ideal candidate has a full UK licence with ≤6 points, prior multi-drop experience, good geography and route planning skills, and a flexible, customer-focused approach to overtime and weekend work.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Experience driving long wheelbase or 3.5-tonne vehicles.
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience.
• Strong route planning and geographic knowledge.
• Comfortable driving in Central London and the M25.
• Warehousing experience is beneficial.
• Physically fit with manual handling duties.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible approach to overtime and working hours.
• Team player in a close-knit environment.
• Reliable, professional and hardworking attitude.

Responsibilities

• Drive a long wheelbase van to event venues and clients.
• Deliveries and collections within Central London and the M25.
• Occasionally travel further across the UK.
• Load and unload equipment safely.
• Complete deliveries on time and report issues.
• Daily vehicle checks and keep vehicle clean.
• Communicate professionally with clients, suppliers and staff.
• Plan routes using sat nav and assist with warehouse duties.
• Collaborate with operations and other drivers to complete jobs.

Role:Van Driver

Location: St Albans, AL2

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday. Standard working hours are 7:00am - 7:00pm, however flexibility is required as working hours can fall at anytime depending on business needs.

Salary: £27,000 - £28,000 per annum

Duties of a Van Driver:

• Driving a long wheelbase van to event venues, suppliers and corporate clients
• Carrying out deliveries and collections primarily within Central London and the M25
• Occasionally travelling further afield throughout the UK as required
• Loading and unloading equipment safely and efficiently
• Ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed on time
• Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting any issues
• Maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the company vehicle
• Communicating professionally with clients, suppliers and freelance staff
• Planning and navigating routes effectively (sat nav provided)
• Assisting with warehouse duties when not out on the road
• Working closely with the operations team and other drivers to ensure all jobs are completed successfully
• Undertaking additional duties as required to support the business

What we would like from you:

• Previous experience driving long wheelbase or 3.5-tonne vehicles
• Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience
• Comfortable driving within Central London and the M25
• Good geographical knowledge and route planning skills
• Warehouse experience would be beneficial
