Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland is seeking a driver to operate light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. The role involves ensuring vehicle safety and load security, loading and unloading goods, and visiting customer locations while maintaining compliance with safety regulations.

Candidates should have a Category B licence (max 6 points), good numeracy and literacy, strong communication skills, and relevant geographical knowledge. IT systems awareness is desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum of driving licence category B – with no more than 6 points.
• Proactive approach to safety of company vehicles and other drivers.
• A polite manner at all times when visiting customer premises.
• Numeracy and literacy skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Geographical knowledge and LCV experience.
• Ability to use IT systems (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Operate light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes for transporting goods.
• Ensure vehicle is safe and roadworthy before journeys; load, unload and secure loads.
• Visit customer locations and communicate with internal and external customers.
• Adhere to legal and company safety requirements and working time directive regulations.

What will you be doing?

Operating light commercial vehicles of up to 3.5 tonnes for transportation of goods

Ensuring the vehicle is safe and roadworthy before commencing any journey, as well as the safe loading, unloading and security of the vehicle load

Visiting customer locations, communicating with both internal and external customers

Ensuring that the legal and company safety requirements, alongside the working time directive regulations are adhered to at all times
