Job summary

ALS is hiring a Courier Driver at the Otterbourne site. You will drive a medium wheeled van, collect samples from the Isle of Wight, and deliver them to Otterbourne. The role requires a clean driving record and a valid UK licence, with 4 on/4 off shifts from 10:30 to 18:30.

Collaboration with a team and client-facing responsibilities are essential. The position offers a competitive hourly rate with a location allowance, plus benefits and pension, and requires flexibility to cover collection runs

Qualifications

• Clean driving record and valid UK driving licence.
• Experience driving medium wheel base vans.
• Good knowledge of UK road networks.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexible and reliable attitude.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Drive a medium wheeled van safely and courteously.
• Maintain temperature control of the vehicle's fridge at all times.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and ALS staff.
• Adapt to collection runs and handle traffic delays.
• Accurately complete paperwork, record van temperatures and sample consignments.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance.
• Inform Transport Manager of issues or pertinent information.
