Job Overview

As one of our Occupational Health Nurses, you will be accountable and responsible for the care delivery and management of the Occupational Health patients, both internal and external. This includes triage, assessing pre-placement questionnaires, responding to sharps incidents, vaccinating staff with relevant vaccines, and answering queries directed to the department.

Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintaining an active Nursing and Midwifery Council registration
  • Maintaining an up-to-date professional portfolio to support the Knowledge & Skills Framework and professional development required for nurse revalidation
  • Engaging in own appraisal/performance review with clarity on role authority, with regular reviews
  • Fulfilling mandatory training requirements
  • Facilitating appropriate mentorship and clinical supervision
  • Developing personal leadership, management skills, and maintaining clinical knowledge and professional awareness

Person Specification
Qualifications

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse Part 1, 2, 12, BSc in Nursing or working towards this
  • State Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a B5 role in an acute setting
Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • Understanding of equality & diversity and its application in managing self, staff, and patients

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Clinical Governance theory and application
Applicant Requirements

You must hold an appropriate UK professional registration. This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020, requiring a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
