Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a Support Driver to operate a drop side van, load and deliver materials, and collect barriers and fittings to sites. You will drive safely, lift up to 25kg, and work occasional unsociable hours to support emergency operations.

You will transport materials between depots and suppliers, maintain vehicle and equipment condition, and ensure all documentation and safety procedures are followed. Strong customer relations are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence held for all vehicle types used in the role.
• Towing licence required to operate trailer and coupling equipment.
• NRSWA Unit 2 certification or equivalent knowledge of streetworks procedures.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a drop side van safely.
• Load and deliver materials to work sites; collect barriers, cones and fittings after works.
• Carry out jet washes when required.
• Lift and carry up to 25kg and work unsociable hours during emergencies.
• Transport materials between local depots, suppliers and builders’ merchants.
• Ensure safety, compliance and proper documentation for all duties.
• Maintain security, cleanliness and good condition of vehicle and equipment.
• Uphold strong customer relations and report safety issues as per procedures.
• Use the smartphone system to capture feedback for commercial and reinstatement needs.
• Liaise with Support Services to manage liabilities and apply a right first time approach.
