Job summary

GAP invites applications for a Driver in the Lifting Division. You will deliver, load, and collect hoists, slings, and winches to construction and utility sites across the UK, while maintaining paperwork accuracy and safety checks.

Expect on-site demonstrations, daily vehicle checks, and careful handling of equipment with proper securing methods. Join a family-run, national equipment hire leader focused on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Proven driving experience delivering hire equipment to sites.
• Full UK driving licence; towing experience and Digi Tacho card are desirable.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete paperwork accurately.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting lifting equipment to and from customer sites, completing all paperwork accurately (including damage checks, fuel levels, and authorised signatures).
• Conduct hire equipment demonstrations where needed.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
• Safely loading and unloading equipment using correct strapping and securing methods.
• Tagging damaged equipment on return and placing them in the correct depot area.
• Maintaining a clean and organised vehicle and supporting general depot duties.
• Following customer site Health & Safety rules and using digital tachographs in line with legislation.
