Job summary

Wales & West Utilities Limited is seeking a Support Driver to back up operational teams across our Wales and south-west England network. The role involves driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver and collect materials, signs and barriers, with exposure to physically demanding tasks such as backfilling and erecting signs.

You’ll drive safely, perform vehicle inspections, and maintain strong communication with site coordinators and engineers while upholding company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Full valid driving licence is required.
• Right to work in the UK is required.
• Knowledge and understanding of DVSA regulations.
• Energy to work in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to undertake necessary training and upskilling.
• Flexible mindset to meet customer and public safety needs.
• Desirable: C or CE licence, NRSWA qualifications, SHEA Gas.

Responsibilities

• Collect and deliver materials, plant & equipment in a safe, efficient and timely manner
• Work within WWU policies, procedures and relevant legislation
• Perform daily/weekly vehicle inspections and report defects promptly
• Maintain vehicle condition and arrange maintenance when needed
• Drive legally and within speed limits
• Communicate clearly with coordinators and engineering staff
• Use approved equipment safely to protect health and safety on site
• Assist with signing and guarding on site and report defects to the First Line Manager
