Harvey Nash Group is seeking a User Researcher for a public sector client on a 6-month contract inside IR35 with a negotiable day rate. The role involves delivering user research across the service lifecycle within an agile, multidisciplinary team.

You'll conduct interviews, usability testing, contextual research and workshops, translate findings into actionable insights, and champion accessibility throughout development. Public sector experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience working as a User Researcher.
• Experience delivering research within agile, multidisciplinary teams.
• Confident using a range of qualitative research methods.
• Experience translating complex research into actionable recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Understanding of accessibility and inclusive research practices.
• Public sector or government digital experience would be highly advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Plan and deliver user research across different stages of the service lifecycle.
• Conduct qualitative research including interviews, usability testing, contextual research and workshops.
• Identify user needs, behaviours, pain points and opportunities.
• Analyse and synthesise research findings into clear, actionable insights.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Business Analysts and Delivery teams.
• Champion user-centred design and accessibility throughout the development process.
• Communicate research findings effectively to stakeholders and influence service decisions.
• Support continuous improvement of services based on user evidence.
