Job summary

Methods is urgently seeking multiple User Researchers on a contract basis for a government client. The role involves conducting diverse user research across digital and physical spaces, with travel to Northern hubs including Manchester, Sheffield, Blackpool, Birmingham and Newcastle.

You will work under tight briefs, translating findings into actionable recommendations for trial teams, while collaborating with stakeholders in public-sector environments and across frontline operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience conducting user research in fast-moving or ambiguous environments.
• Experience researching physical spaces, comms and marketing, and other formats; not just digital interfaces.
• Strong practical research skills: planning studies, conducting fieldwork, analysing findings, producing clear outputs.
• Comfort responding to pre-defined briefs and delivering quickly with minimal hand-holding.
• Ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations for trial teams.
• Knowledge of experimentation approaches (A/B testing, pilots, controlled trials).
• Experience working with operational or frontline teams.
• Familiarity with public-sector contexts or complex stakeholder environments

Methods is urgently looking multiple User Researchers contract basis for a piece of work at a government client:

Client: Central Government Department

Role: User Researcher

Remote with adhoc travel to a Northern hub bases: Manchester/Sheffied/Blackpool/Birmingham/Newcastle
