Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is seeking a Sales Manager in West Sussex to own the full used vehicle lifecycle, from sourcing and appraisal to pricing, marketing and delivery to customers. You will shape strategy, build a customer base, and drive profitability in a dynamic operation.

You will source quality stock, manage valuations and margins, and collaborate with workshops and marketing to present vehicles effectively while growing the business through industry networks and existing databases.

Qualifications

• Experience with used vehicle markets and commercial sales.
• Ability to develop and deliver a business plan for the used vehicle operation.
• Strong understanding of gross-margin management and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Own the used vehicle lifecycle from sourcing to handover.
• Develop and deliver the used vehicle business plan and hit sales targets.
• Source quality used minibuses, midi-coaches and specialist vehicles.
• Manage appraisals, valuations, pricing and prep costs.
• Build relationships with operators, fleets, and dealers.
• Identify part-exchange opportunities with the sales team.
• Generate new business through databases, inquiries, and networks.
• Monitor stock levels, age, depreciation, margins and working capital.
• Collaborate with Workshop, Parts, Aftersales and Marketing to present vehicles well.
• Continuously improve processes behind the used vehicle operation.
