Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection seeks a Sales Manager to own the entire used vehicle lifecycle from sourcing and appraisal to pricing, marketing and handover. You will shape strategy, build the customer base and drive profitability across the operation in West Sussex.

You’ll source minibuses, coaches and specialist vehicles, manage valuations and costs, and collaborate with workshops and marketing to present stock at its best. A strong network and commercial mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in used vehicle sales or similar commercial role.
• Strong understanding of vehicle appraisals and valuations.
• Ability to manage pricing, profitability and stock levels.
• Proven ability to source stock and grow a customer base.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with workshops, marketing and other teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the used vehicle lifecycle from sourcing to handover.
• Develop and deliver the used vehicle business plan and hit targets.
• Source quality used minibuses, coaches and specialist vehicles.
• Manage appraisals, valuations, pricing and prep costs.
• Build relationships with operators, fleets, authorities, dealers, and rental companies.
• Identify part-exchange opportunities with the new vehicle sales team.
• Generate new business via databases, website inquiries, and network.
• Monitor stock levels, age, depreciation, margins and working capital.
• Collaborate with Workshop, Parts, Aftersales and Marketing to present vehicles properly.
• Continuously improve processes behind the used vehicle operation.
