Job summary

Voltility, a market intelligence platform focused on energy transition and data centre power markets, is seeking a Regulatory Journalist to uncover and land regulatory stories from US and local government perspectives.

You will build a network across regulators, utilities, and community groups, chase scoops on regulatory decisions, verify information to sourcing standards, and contribute insights to the platform and newsletter.

Qualifications

• Background in energy regulation, utilities or power markets coverage.
• Proven ability to break stories and build a diverse source base.
• Existing network among US regulators, utilities or local officials.
• Comfortable working within a wider data research team.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a network of regulators, utilities, and community groups.
• Chase and land scoops on regulatory, legislative and local decisions.
• Verify information to Voltility's sourcing standards and log sources.
• Collaborate daily with the team to decide what to chase and how to present it.
• Attend industry events to build relationships and gather intelligence.
• Write factual items for the platform and newsletter to support subscribers.
