Voltility is seeking a Regulatory Journalist to break stories that shape US power projects. You will build a network across regulators, utilities, lobbying groups and local officials, and report on regulatory change and public opposition before it lands in public view.

Your intelligence goes straight into Voltility's data platform and newsletter, helping customers understand who is pushing change, where it will land, and how communities may respond.

Qualifications

• Background in reporting or research on energy regulation or utilities.
• Existing network of sources among regulators, utilities or community groups.
• Experience working in a cross-functional data team.
• Persistent, discreet and good on the phone.

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain a network of sources across regulators, utilities, and local officials.
• Chase and land scoops on regulatory decisions and local project responses.
• Verify information to Voltility's sourcing standard and document sources.
• Collaborate with the team to decide what to chase and how to pursue leads.
• Pass leads to researchers and analysts for follow-up and interpretation.
• Attend industry events to develop relationships and gather intelligence.
• Write factual items for the platform and newsletter that support subscribers.
• Protect sources and handle sensitive information appropriately.
