Voltility seeks a Regulatory Analyst to turn regulatory data into interpretation and opinion. Working with journalists and researchers, you will explain what regulatory changes mean for generation, storage and large-load projects, and produce longer-form intelligence subscribers pay for.

You will help create intelligence briefings, market notes and deep dives that quantify impact and indicate what happens next, while feeding back to the research team about data gaps and collection needs.

Qualifications

• Background in regulatory or policy analysis, consulting, law, a utility or market operator, or specialist energy journalism.
• Deep working knowledge of how federal, state and local processes shape generation, storage and large-load economics.
• Published, longer-form written analysis showing ability to take a position and defend it.

Responsabilités

• Interpret regulatory and local change for subscribers.
• Write longer-form intelligence pieces from briefings to deep dives to editorial standard.
• Lead opinion on contested questions with a clear line and evidence.
• Read public and community sentiment around projects and assess where opposition is likely to shape outcomes.
• Work with the wider team to decide which developments merit analysis and what further collection would sharpen it.
• Draw on the Generation and Load project data to quantify impact where the data allows.
• Support the commercial team with subject-matter input to demonstrations, client questions and bespoke requests.
• Contribute to the taxonomy and definitions for regulatory data.
