Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Support Manager for Urgent and Emergency Care to provide day-to-day management and operational support to the UEC and administrative team.

You will oversee staff, manage leave and sickness cover, and monitor service deliverables across Salford, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham, working with clinical and operational teams to ensure accurate, timely, patient-focused service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Line manage and support a team of secretaries, typists, and administrative staff within the UEC admin teams.
• Oversee staff rotas, including management of annual leave, sickness absence, and cover arrangements to maintain service continuity.
• Conduct appraisals and performance reviews, supporting staff development and wellbeing.
• Ensure clear communication, role clarity, and adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
• Maintain oversight of key deliverables such as typing turnaround times, letter sign off and investigation log management.
• Support with tracking and monitoring KPI's
• Identify risks or delays in administrative processes.
• Participate in service planning and development of administrative systems supporting patient care.
• Assist in the investigation of complaints/PALS.
