Job description

Girlguiding North West England welcomes volunteers of all backgrounds, ages, cultures, faiths and abilities. We are flexible and volunteering can be arranged to fit around a busy lifestyle. In return, we offer everyone support, specialised training and the opportunity to develop new skills, meet new people and have fun.

Be part of our success story! Interested in volunteering in the North West? Everyone has a different reason for joining, and helping girls to achieve their potential is not only rewarding but there can be benefits for you too!

There are lots of different volunteering roles within Girlguiding North West England and, as a volunteer with us, you could get involved in anything from becoming a leader or unit helper, to raising funds, helping out with events and providing administrative support. There really is something for everyone! You could develop a whole host of skills such as organisation, communication and teamwork to name a few, and make new friends along the way! We also have lots of units across Liverpool and the surrounding areas so we can find locations and meeting times to suit you.

However you choose to get involved, you’re guaranteed to have lots of fun as the guiding calendar is packed full of events and activities that you’ll have the chance to get involved with!

By becoming a Girlguiding Volunteer, you’ll be helping girls build their confidence, have adventures and learn new skills. Plus, becoming a Girlguiding Volunteer is a great way of making new friends, learning new skills and trying new activities! Whatever it is you’re looking for, there’ll be something in it for you. At the heart of guiding are the unit meetings that girls go along to regularly. Volunteering at unit meetings means getting stuck in, meeting new people and running activities that help girls know they can do anything. You’ll volunteer directly with young people and can choose to work with girls of different age groups between 4 and 18 years in Rainbows, Brownies, Guides or Rangers. Unit meetings are usually once a week for around an hour. As unit leader, you'll run the unit, lead a team of volunteers, and plan and deliver a programme of awesome activities. If you'd like to become a leader, you'll be supported to complete our leader development programme.

A leader will take charge of a weekly unit meeting. You will work alongside other leaders to give girls opportunities and create fantastic memories.
