An established industry player is seeking dedicated locum consultants in Older People’s Medicine and Acute Internal Medicine. This unique opportunity allows you to gain dual accreditation (CESR) while working in a supportive environment. You will manage inpatient care and engage in clinical governance, ensuring high-quality healthcare delivery. The role also offers teaching and research opportunities at a prestigious university teaching hospital. If you are passionate about making a difference in patient care and eager to grow professionally, this position is perfect for you.
The aim is to support and assist successful applicants in applying for and achieving dual accreditation (CESR) in Geriatrics and General (Internal) Medicine. By the end of two years, the locum consultants are expected to be eligible to apply for a substantive post in OPM or AIM after submitting a CESR application.
The two posts are designed to work closely together, with one in OPM and the other in AIM.
Job plans are flexible and include core activities such as managing inpatient care under Older People’s Medicine (OPM) at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and the Acute Medical Unit.
The appointment is to the Trust, not to specific hospitals.
All consultants, including the appointee, are expected to participate in the Trust’s Clinical Governance programme. This includes clinical audit, quality improvement, clinical guidelines and pathways, professional development, appraisal, and risk management.
The appointee will be a member of the Consultant Staff Committee and expected to serve on this committee.

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest in England, with approximately 1000 beds, located in Norfolk. Norwich is a scenic city accessible by train (less than two hours from London Liverpool Street) and car (about 1.5 hours).
