Job summary

Gallagher in Bournemouth is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join our growing team. You will support Real Estate Underwriters, manage administrative tasks, and contribute to accurate documentation and timely service for clients in a fast-paced insurance environment.

You will develop technical underwriting knowledge, work with experienced colleagues, and have opportunities for professional growth within the insurance sector.

Qualifications

• Experience in the insurance sector is advantageous, but transferable skills from related industries are welcome.
• Strong customer focus with the ability to handle client information appropriately and strive for the best outcomes.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
• Proactive, results-oriented approach with initiative and teamwork.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with colleagues, insurers, and clients.

• Familiarity with digital tools and AI-enabled workflows, including Microsoft Copilot, to improve productivity.
• Eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Real Estate Underwriters to deliver exceptional service to Real Estate clients.
• Assist Underwriters with administrative and underwriting tasks, conduct checks, update systems, and issue documentation for new and renewal business.
• Support risk assessments and quotation preparation by gathering client requirements and information.
• Handle day-to-day policy queries, confirm coverage with insurers, and manage documentation and follow-ups to ensure smooth service delivery.
