Job summary

Pro Insurance is seeking an Underwriting Support Assistant to join a growing team in London. The role combines home-based work with in-office days, three days per week, supporting underwriting managers and teams.

You will handle submission clearance, broker accreditation support, document preparation, audits, and monitoring of requirements while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders and ensuring data accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience in the (re)insurance industry, ideally within underwriting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to use discretion to resolve process issues for outsourcing models
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to work flexibly, particularly during peak underwriting periods
• Proven ability to prioritise and organise effectively
• Proven ability to work with speed and accuracy under pressure
• Experience supporting work allocation and working to SLAs/tight deadlines

Responsibilities

• Submission clearance for new risks
• Support new brokers through accreditation
• Prepare quotes, certificates and policy documentation
• Manage audits and follow up on requirements
• Coordinate new surveys and monitoring of requirements
• Support coverholders through approval processes
• Chase and manage coverholder bordereau
• Understand and report on contract details, including LOCs and funds withheld
• Extract and manipulate submission data from broker portals and liaise on treaty statements
• Ensure risk recording instructions are quality checked and reported
