We are recruiting for an underwriting assistant to join our team. There will be occasional travel to our London business centre, so the individual in this role will need to be career-driven, flexible, and keen to excel in their career working for one of the UK’s leading Insurance, Wealth, and Retirement businesses.

A bit about the job:

Together, we'll work towards providing a comprehensive service to support our team of underwriters. This includes building a successful network of internal and external relationships; responding to inquiries; and meeting high standards to ensure customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Collaborating with our Trading Underwriter team in London to deliver end-to-end policy management for large, complex corporate risks
2. Spotting and driving opportunities for operational improvements
3. Delivering key business metrics alongside our management team
4. Taking personal responsibility for your development in line with business strategy
5. Acting on customer feedback and sharing ideas with managers and peers

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Proven record of delivering excellent customer outcomes
• Good knowledge of IT, including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing
• Previous underwriting experience is not essential, as full training will be provided
• Experience in building and encouraging positive internal and external relationships
• Experience in the insurance or financial industry is preferable but not essential
