Overview

As an Underwriting Assistant you will report into our Senior Underwriter you will support our team in the Managed Underwriting department. You will be working alongside a team of thirteen employees. We are looking for someone to assist Underwriters with all aspects of the management of Binding Authority agreements. You will work on a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the performance of the portfolio and individual Agreements. Triaging and assisting with the underwriting of new and renewal risks submitted for special acceptance under the Agreements.
  • Help monitor the performance of the portfolio and individual Agreements, underwriting of new Agreements and amendments to existing Agreements. Assist in the maintaining of databases and documents relating to the underwriting process.
  • Supporting Underwriters throughout the annual planning process.
  • Assist Underwriters with collating information, drafting findings and recommendations, providing recommendations to the Coverholder and following up recommendations to completion.
  • Regular production, distribution and analysis of statistical reports.
  • Extraction and manipulation of data from B&C systems to assist Underwriters with review and analysis of the portfolio and individual Binding Authority Agreements.
  • Prevision of supplementary information to assist in the underwriting of Agreements and individual risks.
  • Diary management, preparation of meetings with both internal and external stakeholders. Making sure all documentation is prepared prior to meetings. Notes are distributed and follow up action points are completed.

This position is offered on a Permanent basis. Annual salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate. Annual leave - 25 days per year (not including bank holidays), increases with length of service.
