INTL Underwriting Assistant - OG09WW

This role will be based in London, UK, and you are required to have the necessary right to work details prior to application.

This individual will work as a member of the Underwriting Support team reporting to the Manager of Underwriting Support. The role will work closely with the Central Service team, Process Ownership function, and others within the International business to ensure Underwriter needs are met. The individual provides hands-on assistance to the Underwriters within the current Line of Business to ensure they can focus on core Underwriting tasks. The individual will also support the team in ensuring timely and accurate capture and update of risk information in our core underwriting systems.

Job Responsibilities & Competence

  1. New business risk analysis and setup to support the Underwriters, including submission downloads, pre-modelling requests, clearance checks, and review of wordings.
  2. Assisting with rating of accounts and RARC calculations by analyzing and inputting underwriting information.
  3. Supporting Underwriters by quoting renewal risks.
  4. Working with Underwriters to identify task opportunities that can be absorbed by Underwriting Assistants to maximize their time spent on underwriting.
  5. Acting as a subject matter expert for the Central team for your line of business to share product-specific updates and changes.
  6. Attending Underwriting and Client meetings (internally & externally) to help create and maintain relationships.
  7. Triaging endorsements and adjustment requests to support Central Service.
  8. Managing E-trading requests, including attending meetings and authorizing tasks.
  9. Assisting with Underwriter Presentations and Business Planning.
  10. Collaborating with the Delegated Authority team on Lineslip and Binder EPI Entry and adjustments.
  11. Providing assistance with independent audit and peer review requests.
  12. Working with the Finance team to resolve credit control queries within agreed timelines.
  13. Acting on exception reports promptly to maintain accurate risk details on Underwriting Systems.
  14. Supporting continuous process improvements by identifying opportunities and participating in root cause analysis.
  15. Conducting data analysis and preparing reports to support underwriters.
  16. Participating in IT enhancements and upgrades for Underwriting systems.
  17. Performing other ad hoc tasks related to International Operations.
