Trainee Underwriting Assistant – Lloyd’s £30,000-£35,000

This role is suitable for a graduate-level candidate (or equivalent) interested in developing a career within the Lloyd’s insurance market. Prior exposure to the insurance industry, through work experience or temping, is highly preferred. Skills in math and coding (SQL, R, VBA) are advantageous.

Responsibilities include:

• Extracting client data from broker systems
• Analyzing client data using database reporting and analytical tools to assist with pricing
• Contract data entry
• liaising externally with the broking community
• Supporting underwriters with daily administration tasks
• Monitoring and reporting on exposure
• Calculating loss estimates from current, past, and future contracts
• Preparing disaster scenario reports for the board
• Conducting catastrophe modeling and data analysis for reinsurance decisions
• Performing ad hoc project work as needed
