Job summary

Active Tunnelling is seeking an experienced Pit Bottom Operative for the Riv Mease project, running from 2nd November 2026 through 28th December 2026. The role involves working at pit bottom level, supporting pipejacking operations, and assisting the tunnelling team on site.

You will work underground in shafts and pits, with relevant site/tunnelling qualifications and a strong commitment to safety. The assignment requires reliable teamwork and adherence to site procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Pit Bottom Operative.
• Experience in pipejacking or tunnelling.
• Experience working within shafts and pits.
• Ability to work underground and follow site safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work at pit/shaft bottom level.
• Support pipejacking operations.
• Assist miners and tunnelling team.
• Work within shafts and pits.
• Assist with movement of materials, pipes and equipment.
• Carry out general tunnelling and underground duties.
• Follow site health and safety procedures.
