Job summary

Skills for Security is offering an apprenticeship for a Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician. You will work with experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find access control, CCTV, intruder alarms and fire alarms.

The program runs with block-release training at our Doncaster centre, one week every eight weeks, culminating in a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification. A driving licence and DBS clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS clearance required.
• 18+ due to site restrictions.
• Full clean driving licence required.
• GCSE Maths and English (4/C+) preferred.
• Willingness to travel/stay away regularly.
• Interest in electrical installation beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist with installation, maintenance and fault-finding on security and fire systems.
• Train hands-on with real systems under expert engineers.
• Attend block-release training at Doncaster centre (one week every eight weeks).
• Work towards Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship.
• Participate in assessments and compile evidence to support learning.

Job Description

As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find on the following systems:

• Access Control

• Video Surveillance

• Intruder Alarms

• Fire Alarms

Entry Requirements

• Able to pass an enhanced DBS

• 18+ due to site restrictions

• Full clean driving licence

• Ideally have GCSE Maths and English grade 4/C or above

• Ideally live locally to the office

• Previous experience in Electrical Installation or electrical knowledge is beneficial

• Willingness to work away regularly

Your apprenticeship training is delivered by Skills for Security, specialists in fire and security training.

You’ll train through block release at our Doncaster centre, for one week every eight weeks (Tuesday–Friday).

You’ll work towards a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship, gaining real skills and a nationally recognised qualification.
