Job summary

Serta Systems Ltd is recruiting an apprentice to join our London-based projects. You will work with seasoned engineers to install, maintain and fault-find Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intruder Alarms and Fire Alarms across commercial sites.

You’ll train through block release at Watford or Dagenham centres, for one week every eight weeks, toward a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship. Accommodation is covered for overnight stays when required.

Qualifications

• UK driving licence required due to travel requirements of the role.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Comfortable working at height; accommodation covered for overnight stays if needed.
• Maths and English at GCSE (4) or equivalent or above.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and fault-find on Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intruder Alarms and Fire Alarms.
• Work alongside engineers on London-based projects.

Serta Systems Ltd are a commercial fire and security provider based in Walsall. They specialise in designing, installing, and maintaining fire and security equipment, including advanced CCTV and surveillance technology, fire alarms, intruder alarms and access control systems for commercial and industrial properties across the UK. They are now recruiting for a brand new apprentice to help with their London based projects!

Job Description

As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find on the following systems:

• Access Control
• Video Surveillance
• Intruder Alarms
• Fire Alarms

Entry Requirements

• A UK drivers license is required due to the travel requirements of the role
• Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS background check
• Must be comfortable working at height due to the nature of the role
• Maths and English at grade 4 GCSE (or equivalent) or above
• Comfortable with overnight stays if the job requires it (accommodation expenses are covered by the employer)
• Excellent customer service and teamwork skills
• Electrical, engineering or power tool experience would be a bonus
• Hourly rate of pay is £8 - 12.71p/h depending on experience

Training to be Provided

Your apprenticeship training is delivered by Skills for Security, specialists in fire and security training.

You’ll train through block release at our Watford or Dagenham centre (depending on where the successful candidate is based), for one week every eight weeks (Tuesday–Friday).

You’ll work towards a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship, gaining real skills and a nationally recognised qualification.
