Job summary

JGA Recruitment Group Ltd seeks an experienced Payroll Team Leader to manage the UK payroll function within a large, fast-paced organisation based in Diss. This hybrid role requires three days in the office and two days working from home, offering permanent, full-time hours.

You will lead the UK payroll team, ensure end-to-end processing, tackle complex queries, and drive compliance with HMRC, RTI, pensions and GDPR while delivering process improvements and payroll projects.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a payroll team in the UK.
• End-to-end UK payroll experience in a high-volume environment.
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance.
• Experience with payroll projects or systems is desirable.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Able to commute to Diss three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the UK payroll team.
• Oversee accurate end-to-end UK payroll processing.
• Resolve complex payroll queries.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC legislation, RTI, pensions and GDPR.
• Produce payroll reports and maintain controls.
• Partner with HR, Finance and other stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and systems.
• Lead payroll projects including system upgrades and policy changes.
• Support payroll integration during mergers and acquisitions.
• Act as a key contact for internal and external audits.
