Job summary

Ryanair is recruiting a UK Outstations Engineer to lead and manage engineering line stations at Stansted, Birmingham or Manchester Airports. The role requires hands-on leadership, regulatory compliance and a focus on operational efficiency in a busy, fast-changing environment.

You will oversee maintenance, staffing, budgets, and contractor liaison while ensuring safety and UK CA and EASA standards. The position offers a challenging, hands-on leadership path with opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in Aircraft Line Maintenance is essential.
• EASA Part-66 B1/B2 license desirable; recency required.
• Boeing 737-NG/737-Max endorsements desirable.
• Excellent time management and prioritization.
• Proven leadership and remote team management.
• Aeronautical Engineering background required.
• Experience in Aviation or Engineering.
• IT literacy with AMOS is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee routine maintenance, Incidents/AOGs and third-party liaison.
• Plan manpower, recruitment, retention and performance.
• Ensure spares and equipment are available at locations.

• Coach engineers, apprentices and supervise teams.
• Investigate maintenance delays and safety reports; implement corrective actions.

Aircraft Engineering Service (AES Ltd) are inviting applications for a UK Outstations Engineer to be based in Stansted, Birmingham or Manchester Airport working in cooperation with our client Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline. Duties And Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the UK General Manager and the Technical Operations Manager the successful candidate, who will work on a 4 on 4 off day shift rotation will be responsible for the leadership and management of Ryanair’s Engineering Line Stations in the UK.

• Management of Routine Maintenance, Aircraft Incidents/AOG’s and Third-Party Liaison.
• Manpower planning, recruitment, retention and staff performance management.
• Ensuring appropriate spares and equipment are available at each location.
• Budgeting, invoicing and negotiation/management of contracts with external suppliers/companies.
• Conducting regular base visits, ensuring staff welfare and regulatory (UK CAA and EASA) compliances.
• Supervisions and mentoring of Engineer, Aircraft Mechanics and Apprentices.
• Investigating Maintenance Delays, Engineering Safety Reports and Non- Compliances, implementing strategies to prevent recurrence.

We Are Looking For a Motivated Self-starter With Managerial Experience Who Is Ready, Willing And Able To Manage Technical Teams In a Diverse And Fast-changing Environment. The Successful Candidate Should Be Able To Demonstrate

• Aircraft Line Maintenance experience (Essential).
• EASA Part-66 B1/B2 License holder & Recency (Desirable).
• Boeing 737-NG Type Endorsement (Desirable – Type Courses Available)
• Boeing 737-Max Type Endorsement (Desirable – Type Courses Available)
• Excellent time management, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and effectively communicate progress to Senior Management.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proven leadership experience, capable of remotely managing diverse teams.
• Aeronautical Engineering background required.
• Previous experience in Aviation or Engineering.
• Good IT Literacy (Essential), with AMOS Experience (Desirable).
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
