Ryanair is seeking an experienced Outstations Engineer to oversee maintenance across Stansted, Birmingham or Manchester airports, coordinating with AES Ltd and Ryanair operations. The role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and hands-on engineering expertise in a dynamic environment.

The candidate will manage maintenance tasks, lead diverse teams, ensure on-time delivery, and drive safety improvements across sites in the UK.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage Routine Maintenance, Aircraft Incidents/AOGs and liaison with third parties.
  • Manpower planning, recruitment, retention and staff performance management.
  • Ensure spares and equipment are available at each location.
  • Budgeting, invoicing and contract management with external suppliers.
  • Conduct regular base visits and ensure regulatory compliance (UK CAA/EASA).
  • Supervise and mentor engineers, aircraft mechanics and apprentices.
  • Investigate maintenance delays and safety reports, implementing preventive actions.

DescriptionJob DescriptionAircraft Engineering Service (AES Ltd) are inviting applications for a UK Outstations Engineer to be based in Stansted, Birmingham or Manchester Airport working in cooperation with our client Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Management of Routine Maintenance, Aircraft Incidents/AOG’s and Third-Party Liaison.
  • Manpower planning, recruitment, retention and staff performance management.
  • Ensuring appropriate spares and equipment are available at each location.
  • Budgeting, invoicing and negotiation/management of contracts with external suppliers/companies.
  • Conducting regular base visits, ensuring staff welfare and regulatory (UK CAA and EASA) compliances.
  • Supervisions and mentoring of Engineer, Aircraft Mechanics and Apprentices.
  • Investigating Maintenance Delays, Engineering Safety Reports and Non- Compliances, implementing strategies to prevent recurrence.
Requirements

We are looking for a motivated self-starter with managerial experience who is ready, willing and able to manage technical teams in a diverse and fast-changing environment.

  • Aircraft Line Maintenance experience (Essential).
  • EASA Part-66 B1/B2 License holder & Recency (Desirable).
  • Boeing 737-NG Type Endorsement (Desirable - Type Courses Available).
  • Boeing 737-Max Type Endorsement (Desirable - Type Courses Available).
  • Excellent time management, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and effectively communicate progress to Senior Management.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership experience, capable of remotely managing diverse teams.
  • Aeronautical Engineering background required.
  • Previous experience in Aviation or Engineering.
  • Good IT Literacy (Essential), with AMOS Experience (Desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Applicants must have unrestricted right to work in the UK and hold a valid UK Driving License.
