Job summary

Ryanair Ltd. is seeking a skilled B1 Licensed Engineer to join the Manchester Line Station on 2D2N rotations.

The role combines hands-on maintenance with leadership responsibilities, supervising Engineers, Mechanics and Trainees while ensuring compliance with UKCAA/EASA standards. You will lead day-to-day line maintenance on the Boeing 737 family, drive safety culture, and deliver reliable aircraft performance in a fast-paced environment at Manchester Airport.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a maintenance team in a live Line Station.
• Strong knowledge of Boeing 737 family layouts and maintenance procedures.
• UK CAA Part-66 B1 Licence with Boeing 737-NG endorsement & recency.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Engineers, Mechanics and Trainees at the Manchester Line Station.
• Coordinate Line Maintenance activities including routine servicing and defect rectification for Ryanair’s 737 family.
• Work with Engineering Planners to develop and deliver maintenance plans for the Line Station.
• Ensure maintenance is performed safely, efficiently, and per procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Drive a strong safety and compliance culture across the team and station.
• Support staff development and onboarding of new personnel.

About the role:

AES (Aircraft Engineering Services Ltd) are inviting applications for an experienced B1 Engineering Shift Leader to be based at Manchester Airport on 2D2N rotations working in partnership with our client Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experience B1 Licenced Engineer to take a leadership role within a busy and growing Line Station, leading a team of Engineers, Mechanics and Trainees while remaining actively involved in day-to-day aircraft maintenance.

Responsibilities –

Reporting directly to the Station Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance across the Line Maintenance operation. You will provide leadership and technical support to the Engineering team, ensuring that aircraft are maintained to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leadership and Management of a team of Engineers, Mechanics and Trainees at the Manchester Line Station.
• Coordinating all Line Maintenance operation activities, including routine servicing and defect rectification of Ryanair’s 737-800 and 737-8200 Fleet, and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) recovery.
• Working closely with Engineering Planners to develop and deliver effective maintenance plans for the Line Station.
• Ensuring maintenance is completed safely, efficient and in accordance with the approved procedures and regulatory requirements, including the promotion of a strong safety and compliance culture.
• Staff development and training, including onboarding of new staff and continued professional development for existing team members.
• Identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency, reliability and performance of the team and station.

Requirements

About You:

We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced B1 Licenced Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career into a leadership position.

You will have proven Line Maintenance experience, strong technical knoeldhed of the Boeing 737 and the ability to lead a team effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.

You should be comfortable working independently, making sound decisions under pressure and adapting to changing operational priorities.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Aircraft Line Maintenance experience (Essential).
• UK CAA Part-66 B1 Licence holder with Boeing 737-NG Type Endorsement & Recency (Essential).
• EASA Part-66 B1 Licence holder with Boeing 737-NG Type Endorsement & Recency (Desirable)
• Boeing 737-Max Type Endorsement (Desirable – Type Courses Available).
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (Essential).
• Good IT Literacy (Essential), with AMOS Experience (Desirable).
• All applicants must have unrestricted right to work and travel in the UK and hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
