Job summary

Ryanair Ltd. is seeking a UK Outstations Engineer based at Stansted Airport to lead Ryanair’s engineering line stations in the UK.

You will oversee routine maintenance, coordinate with the UK General Manager and Technical Operations Manager, and ensure regulatory compliance in a fast-changing environment. The role requires aircraft line maintenance experience, a relevant EASA license (B1/B2 desirable), strong leadership, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Aircraft Line Maintenance experience is essential.
  • EASA Part-66 B1/B2 license is desirable.
  • Good IT literacy with AMOS experience desirable.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and leadership capabilities.
  • Aeronautical Engineering background is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Routine Maintenance, Aircraft Incidents/AOGs and third-party liaison.
  • Plan manpower, recruitment, retention and staff performance.
  • Ensure spares and equipment are available at each location.
  • Budgeting, invoicing and contract management with external suppliers.
  • Conduct base visits, ensuring staff welfare and regulatory compliance (UK CAA & EASA).
  • Supervise and mentor engineers, aircraft mechanics and apprentices.
  • Investigate maintenance delays and safety/non-compliance reports; implement preventive actions.

Aircraft Engineering Service (AES Ltd) are inviting applications for a UK Outstations Engineer to be based in Stansted Airport working in cooperation with our client Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline. The successful candidate will be an operationally focused, highly adaptable and proven leader, who is able to demonstrate a flexible working attitude in fast-changing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the UK General Manager and the Technical Operations Manager the successful candidate, who will work on a 4 on 4 off day shift rotation will be responsible for the leadership and management of Ryanair’s Engineering Line Stations in the UK.

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Management of Routine Maintenance, Aircraft Incidents/AOG’s and Third-Party Liaison.
  • Manpower planning, recruitment, retention and staff performance management.
  • Ensuring appropriate spares and equipment are available at each location.
  • Budgeting, invoicing and negotiation/management of contracts with external suppliers/companies.
  • Conducting regular base visits, ensuring staff welfare and regulatory (UK CAA and EASA) compliances.
  • Supervisions and mentoring of Engineer, Aircraft Mechanics and Apprentices.
  • Investigating Maintenance Delays, Engineering Safety Reports and Non- Compliances, implementing strategies to prevent recurrence.
Requirements

We are looking for a motivated self-starter with managerial experience who is ready, willing and able to manage technical teams in a diverse and fast-changing environment. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Aircraft Line Maintenance experience (Essential).
  • EASA Part-66 B1/B2 License holder & Recency (Desirable).
  • Excellent time management, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and effectively communicate progress to Senior Management.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership experience, capable of remotely managing diverse teams.
  • Aeronautical Engineering background required.
  • Previous experience in Aviation or Engineering.
  • Good IT Literacy (Essential), with AMOS Experience (Desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Applicants must have unrestricted right to work in the UK and hold a valid UK Driving License.
