Job summary

Nexcess (Servers.com), Guildford, UK, seeks an experienced Legal Counsel to join the team in Guildford. The role focuses on contract negotiation and governance across global operations, with emphasis on compliance and data privacy.

Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will support senior leadership, manage external counsel, and contribute to corporate governance and regulatory compliance in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law; 5–7 years post-qualification legal experience.
• Strong expertise in corporate and commercial law and contract drafting/review.
• Solid knowledge of corporate governance, compliance, and employment law.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts (T&Cs, consulting, marketing, lease, intra-group, employment, vendor, customer).
• Advise on employment matters, terminations, and restructurings.
• Identify and mitigate risks in data privacy, security, employment, anti-bribery, and AI compliance.
• Support litigation, M&A, due diligence, and statutory filings for global group entities.
• Create and maintain internal policies on data retention, surveillance, employment, AI, and privacy.
• Coordinate and oversee external legal counsel.
