Job summary

Thales is seeking an experienced UWS UK Head of Training to provide strategic leadership across the Underwater Systems training portfolio and deliver complex maritime training programmes for Mine Warfare, Anti-Submarine Warfare and Defence Services sectors in the UK. You will define the UK training strategy, consolidate delivery teams, and drive growth by working with sales and marketing.

The role requires SC clearance and a track record of leading large, international programmes in maritime

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience managing large, international programmes within the maritime naval domain.
• Degree-level education in a discipline relevant to project management and maritime programmes.
• Professional accreditation with the Association for Project Management (APM) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction across Training projects within Mine Warfare, Anti-Submarine Warfare and Services domains.
• Hold ultimate accountability for programme delivery, management reporting and financial performance.
• Shape and communicate strategic organisational, market and business direction to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Build and nurture a high-performing, engaged team.
• Manage senior customer, partner and stakeholder engagement to ensure relationships are effectively managed.
• Drive Thales project governance and best practices across the portfolio.
• Support growth via new training opportunities and capabilities.
• Oversee portfolio with increasing financial responsibility up to approximately £120m.
