Job summary

Thales Group in the UK is seeking an experienced UWS UK Head of Training to provide strategic leadership across our maritime training portfolio, shaping the future of training services for Mine Warfare, Anti-Submarine Warfare and Defence sectors.

The role is based in Templecombe or Cheadle, overseeing a growing portfolio with financial responsibility up to £120m, and requires strong programme management, stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities to drive successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership of large, international maritime programmes.
• Degree-level education in project management or marine engineering.
• APM accreditation or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholders.
• Strong governance, reporting and financial management skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction across Training projects.
• Accountability for programme delivery, reporting and financial performance.
• Shape strategic direction to achieve project outcomes.
• Lead a high-performing, engaged team.
• Manage customer, partner and stakeholder relationships.
• Ensure governance and best-practice across portfolio.
• Identify future training opportunities and capabilities.
• Oversee portfolio with up to £120m value.
