Overview of Role

Working within the Rothschild & Co Payroll team in London, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of the UK and Guernsey payrolls (approximately 2500 employees and pensioners across 9 payrolls).

Responsibilities

  • Collate the monthly payroll data and provide to the payroll vendor – via a secure online portal.
  • Review and reconcile the output, work with the payroll vendor to correct as necessary and provide the appropriate reports for review and sign off by the Payroll Manager.
  • Ensure that all of the relevant deadlines are met and that the payments are reconciled and made on time.
  • Work with the wider Payroll team and other internal / external stakeholders to streamline processes.
  • Provide high quality and timely customer service to employees and other stakeholders across all UK and Guernsey businesses.
  • Assist with the post-Payroll administration i.e. raising third party payments, distributing P45’s, preparing Payment After Leaving letters etc.
  • Responsible for the processing of team invoices.
  • Prepare month end journals and monitor the SAP GL interface process.
  • Shared responsibility for maintaining the team mailbox and answering queries in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Payroll Lead with ad hoc requests.
  • Involvement in New Joiner induction process.

Experience, Skills and Competencies Required

  • Must have mid-level UK Payroll experience (5+ years).
  • Must have previously worked within a payroll team environment.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of statutory payroll legislation / payroll calculations in the UK.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (Vlookup, Pivot tables).
  • Track record of developing positive relationships with outsourced payroll vendors.
  • Excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Strong analytical skills/critical thinking.
  • Working with CloudPay as an outsourced payroll vendor.
  • Year End processing for the UK including P60, P11d and PSA.
