Job summary
W&P Partners Legal Recruitment is partnering with a leading international SaaS business to appoint a commercially focused UK Commercial Counsel. The role sits in a global Legal team and owns UK and US commercial matters, negotiating SaaS and partner agreements.
The ideal candidate is a solicitor qualified in England & Wales with at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in-house in tech or SaaS, and strong negotiation/communication skills.
Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales or equivalent with UK eligibility.
- 5+ years commercial legal experience, preferably in-house in tech/SaaS.
- Experience negotiating complex SaaS and tech agreements.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in fast-growth or startup tech environments is a plus.
- Comfortable using AI and digital collaboration tools.
Responsibilities
- Act as primary lawyer for UK and US commercial matters.
- Draft, review and negotiate SaaS, customer, vendor and partnership agreements.
- Lead legal support on strategic commercial deals.
- Advise on contractual, commercial and compliance risk.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across jurisdictions and time zones.
- Support resolution of commercial disputes through negotiation or mediation.
- Identify and manage legal risk to support growth.
