Job summary

W&P Partners Legal Recruitment partners with a leading international SaaS business to appoint a commercially focused UK Commercial Counsel to join its global Legal team.

The role requires acting as the primary lawyer for UK/US commercial matters, drafting and negotiating complex SaaS, customer, vendor and partnership agreements, and leading strategic commercial deals. The candidate should have UK solicitor qualification and extensive in-house experience in tech.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor in England and Wales or eligible to practise in the UK.
• At least five years of relevant commercial legal experience.
• In-house experience within technology or SaaS environment is preferred.
• Strong track record negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in fast-growth or startup tech is valuable.
• Confidence using AI and other digital collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary lawyer for UK and US commercial matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate SaaS, customer, vendor and partnership agreements.
• Lead legal support on strategic commercial deals.
• Advise on contractual, commercial and compliance risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across jurisdictions and time zones.
• Assist in resolution of commercial disputes through negotiation or mediation.
• Identify and manage legal risk to support growth.
