Job summary

St Elizabeth’s Centre in Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, is seeking a Twilight Nurse (Band 6) to act as the senior clinical decision maker during twilight hours. You will deliver person-centred nursing care for children and young adults with epilepsy and complex needs, guiding care staff and ensuring safe treatment.

The role requires NMC registration, experience in epilepsy care, and strong communication skills, with a permanent full-time contract and a competitive Band 6 salary.

Location: Much Hadham, HertfordshireSalary: Band 6 - £41,789 - £48,973

Hours: 16:00pm - 00:00am, working 5 days out of 7 (including weekends - days to be discussed)

The Role

As a Twilight Nurse, you will act as the senior clinical decision marker on duty and support the delivery of person centred nursing care to our children and young adults with epilepsy and other complex needs.

You'll work collaboratively across the residential home - supporting and guiding the care staff to understand and manage epilepsy safely and with reassurance.

What You’ll Do

• Act as the lead clinician during twilight hours
• Deliver high-quality nursing care tailored to each person’s individual needs.
• Support seizure management and the safe administration of rescue medication.
• Administer, record and audit medicines in accordance with policies.
• Collaborate with neurologists, therapists, and educators to support individual development and wellbeing.
• Contribute to care planning, record-keeping, and continuous improvement of our nursing service.
• Undertake clinical assessments and monitor changes in health status.

What We’re Looking For

• Registered Nurse (RNLD, RGN or RSCN).
• Valid NMC registration
• Experience supporting children or young adults with epilepsy and/or complex medical needs
• Experience in medication management.
• A compassionate communicator who builds trust with children and families.
• Confident working independently as well as part of a small, supportive team.
• Committed to empowering families and promoting the rights and wellbeing of children with disabilities.
