Job summary

Chemtech Environmental is seeking a Preparation Technician for the Twilight Shift to join our laboratory team in County Durham. You will prepare samples for testing and ensure documentation is accurate, contributing to smooth workflows and timely results.

The role offers a 18:00-22:00 schedule with overtime options and a performance-based bonus. Strong organisational skills and familiarity with Excel are preferred, with a chemistry-related degree being advantageous.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths required.
• Chemistry-related degree or scientific qualification is beneficial.
• Good organisation and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples and subsamples (soils, solids, water, leachates) for testing.
• Keep the Sample Preparation area tidy and stocked; order stock when needed.
• Promote Health & Safety, ensure PPE use, and maintain lab safety.
• Manage sample storage, testing prep, and subcontracting as required.
• Carry out equipment checks and troubleshooting to keep gear running.
