Job summary

NSPCC’s Childline Twilight team in Glasgow is recruiting for a part-time (28hr) Childline Practitioner. You will support peak service hours, respond to contacts, and supervise volunteers during twilight and night shifts, helping thousands of children and young people who need someone to listen.

You will lead on safeguarding decisions, coach volunteers, and ensure a high-quality service, with some home-based days in a 6-week pattern and a 10.5% rota allowance on top of the basic salary.

Qualifications

• Strong background working with children and young people within a safeguarding context.
• Passion for supporting others, especially in emotionally challenging situations.
• Commitment to putting children first and NSPCC values.

Responsibilities

• Lead on on-shift safeguarding decisions.
• Coach and support volunteers to maintain service quality.
• Provide supervision, feedback, training and support outside shifts.
• Ensure every child and young person receives a high-quality service.
