Job description

The role involves 1:1 teaching and support in the student's home (RM5 area). You'll focus on building confidence and progress in:

  • English (reading, writing, communication skills)
  • Maths (functional numeracy and problem-solving)
  • Optional enrichment activities such as music and/or art-based therapies, depending on your skills and the student's interests
Qualifications
  • Experienced in working with young people with physical disabilities or additional learning needs (training can be provided)
  • Patient, encouraging, and adaptable in your teaching style
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging, ability-appropriate lessons
  • Open to incorporating creative, therapeutic, or sensory activities where suitable
  • Reliable, organised, and committed to consistent weekly sessions
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Teaching/tutoring experience (formal or informal)
  • Knowledge of SEN approaches and differentiated learning is an advantage
  • Experience or interest in music/art therapy is desirable but not essential
