Job summary

North Tyneside Council is seeking a tutor/assessor on a permanent 0.5FTE basis to deliver teaching and learning with a focus on Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (TA). The appointment involves delivering Level 2 and Level 3 NCFE ST&L qualifications to adults across North Tyneside.

The ideal candidate will have teaching qualifications and training to Level 3 in ST&L or substantial relevant experience in schools/colleges, with an Enhanced Disclosure Check required.

Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools tutor/assessor required to join North Tyneside Council's outstanding adult learning provision.

Tutor/ Assessor (TA), Permanent 0.5FTE

Grade 8 £35,570 - £39,481 (Pro-rata)

In June 2023, North Tyneside Adult Learning Service were officially recognised by Ofsted as offering outstanding adult learning provision with outstanding leadership and management. Our team deliver learning throughout the Borough across a diverse range of courses and venues. Delivery takes place during the day, evenings and occasionally weekends.

Due to retirement, we have a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic, well-motivated and innovative individual to join our exceptional tutor team to deliver learning with a specialist focus on Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (TA). The successful candidate will deliver both level 2 and level 3 NCFE Supporting Teaching and Learning qualifications to adults across North Tyneside.

Our ideal candidate will hold teaching qualifications with training to a minimum of L3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or have extensive experience of working with children/young adults in a school or college setting. This appointment offers a unique opportunity to join our exceptional adult learning provision, working alongside a highly successful team to develop programmes in partnership with North Tyneside employers and community.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate, in their application form, practical examples of how they fulfil the person specification. Due to the nature of this post, you will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure Check.
