Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking Teaching Assistants to support pupils across North Tyneside and surrounding areas. We offer day-to-day, short-term and long-term roles with various opportunities.

You will work with teachers to assist learning, potentially in 1:1 or small group settings, helping pupils engage and progress in this dynamic education environment.

Teaching Assistant

North Tyneside and Surrounding Areas | Full Time & Part Time
£14.24 per hour (pre-AWR, depending on experience and/or qualifications)

The School and Role

Vision for Education is looking to recruit enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to work in schools across North Tyneside and surrounding areas.

We have a range of opportunities available, including day-to-day, short-term and long-term roles, with the potential for permanent opportunities.

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside class teachers to support pupils with their learning and development. Depending on the role, you may work with pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups or as part of the wider classroom, helping them to engage with learning and make progress.

Your responsibilities may include supporting pupils across the curriculum, helping to create a positive learning environment, providing additional support where required and encouraging pupils to develop their confidence and independence.

You'll work as part of a supportive school team and have the opportunity to gain valuable experience across a range of educational settings.

Requirements

To be considered for a Teaching Assistant role, you will need:

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • A positive and enthusiastic approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with their learning and development
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to different classroom environments
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

Previous school-based experience is desirable; however, we also welcome applications from candidates with relevant experience in childcare, care, youth work, sports coaching or other support-based roles.
