Job summary

Wakefield Council is seeking a committed ESOL tutor to deliver adult learning programmes in ESOL across accredited and non-accredited pathways. The role covers planning lessons, developing schemes of work, and maintaining learner records within Wakefield Adult Education Service.

The successful candidate will have Level 4/5 teaching qualifications and Level 2 English/Maths, with proven ESOL teaching experience.

Qualifications

  • Level 4/5 teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE or DTLLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Level 2 in English/Maths.
  • Proven experience of planning and delivery teaching and assessment practice.
  • Previous experience of teaching ESOL is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and appropriately challenging lessons that meet the needs of learners at all levels.

We are seeking a committed and passionate tutor to deliver high-quality adult learning programmes in ESOL. We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic tuotr to join our team at Wakefield Adult Education Service. The purpose of this role is to deliver ESOL courses to adults, across a range of levels including accredited and non-accredited pathways. What you will do:

  • Deliver high-quality ESOL teaching across accredited and non-accredited provision, supporting learners to achieve their goals and progress to further learning opportunities.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and appropriately challenging lessons that meet the needs of learners at all levels.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources that meet curriculum, accreditation and RARPAP requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date learner records and documentation.

Working hours, days and times to be discussed at interview but will include one evening per week (either Tuesday or Thursday).
