Job summary

Powertutors UK is seeking SEND Tutors to provide personalised one-to-one support for children with additional learning needs across Surrey. You will tailor tuition to each pupil's strengths and goals, helping them progress in a positive, encouraging environment.

Candidates with QTS or experience in educational settings are welcome; pay is £25-£35 per hour, term-time only, with flexible hours to fit around commitments.

Qualifications

• Have experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
• Be able to adapt teaching approaches to suit each individual's learning style.
• Hold QTS, have tutoring experience, or possess relevant experience within an educational setting (preferred but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Delivering individual tuition tailored to each pupil's strengths, challenges and learning objectives.
• Creating and adapting lesson plans that align with each child's EHCP where applicable.
• Supporting learners who are unable to access a mainstream classroom setting.

About the Role

As a SEND Tutor, you'll provide personalised, one-to one support for children with additional learning needs, helping them achieve their educational goals in a positive and encouraging environment.

• Delivering individual tuition tailored to each pupil's strengths, challenges and learning objectives.
• Creating and adapting lesson plans that align with each child's individual needs and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), where applicable.
• Supporting learners who are unable to access a mainstream classroom setting.

About you

We're looking for tutors who are committed to making a real difference in the lives of children with

additional needs.

• Have experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia or other learning differences.
• Be able to adapt your teaching approach to suit each individual's preferred learning style.
• Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and their families through excellent communication skills.
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), have previous tutoring experience, or possess relevant experience within an educational setting (preferred but not essential).
