Job summary

Bouygues Travaux Publics SA is seeking an experienced Electrical & PLC Engineer to support underground and tunneling works during the Sizewell C construction phase. Based at Orwell Logistics Park with regular site visits, you will provide electrical expertise across marine and tunnel workstreams to help deliver safe, reliable site infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• ECS Card and 17th or 18th Edition qualification.
• Experience in a comparable electrical engineering role within major construction, infrastructure or tunneling environments.
• Experience with TBMs, including electrical establishment, power distribution and auxiliaries.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, control systems and fault-finding.
• Experience designing and troubleshooting electrical systems and making sound technical decisions.
• Proven project and process management capability with a methodical, collaborative approach.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation (drawings, specifications, testing plans).
• Commitment to safety and compliance with relevant standards; promote HSE.
• Clear communication across multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and alliance partners.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, implementation and technical oversight of electrical systems for tunneling and marine works.
• Lead and coordinate electrical aspects of TBM establishment, including power supplies and control panels.
• Develop electrical power requirements and distribution for TBMs, conveyors and auxiliary equipment.
• Assess and plan power requirements for TBMs and associated plant, including ventilation and water treatment.
• Produce and review technical drawings, specifications, calculations, simulations and documentation.
• Design, develop and maintain robust testing regimes for on-site electrical systems.
• Provide technical support through installation, commissioning, fault-finding and breakdown resolution.
• Support HV/LV cabling schemes, transformers, grids and power supply units.
• Prepare risk assessments, method statements and permit applications.
• Review subcontractor designs and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Coordinate electrical works with project teams to maintain safety and schedule.
• Champion high standards of health, safety, wellbeing, environmental performance, quality and continuous improvement.
