Job summary

St Joseph Catholic Multi Academy Trust is seeking an outstanding Maths Consultant to lead a Trust-wide improvement programme across our secondary academies in Liverpool and beyond.

Working closely with Headteachers, senior leaders and mathematics staff, you will drive curriculum development, standardisation, assessment strategies and targeted intervention to raise KS4 attainment and ensure examination readiness across the Trust.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of securing sustained improvement in KS4 mathematics outcomes.
• Expert knowledge of mathematics pedagogy, assessment and curriculum design across KS3 and KS4.
• Experience coaching and developing teachers and leaders at multiple levels.
• Ability to analyse performance data and translate evidence into effective improvement strategies.
• Ambition to drive outcomes at scale across a growing trust of schools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Trust’s mathematics improvement strategy with a focus on KS4 attainment, progress, Basics 4+ and Basics 5+.
• Develop and implement a stronger KS4 mathematics curriculum with clear sequencing, progression and exam readiness.
• Strengthen assessment and standardisation across KS3/KS4 to identify gaps and readiness.
• Establish consistent feedback and error analysis to guide teaching and pupil actions.
• Strengthen foundational numeracy and transition from KS2 to KS3.
• Report termly on impact including attainment, progress and leadership capacity.
• Work with pupils directly through teaching, modelling, diagnostic work and intervention.
• Coach staff through professional development, curriculum support and leadership challenges.
• Improve teaching through lesson visits, modelling and targeted feedback.
• Lead maths intervention, including Year 11 attainment plans and support for disadvantaged pupils.
