Job summary

Wessex Water Services in Wareham is seeking a Treatment Operator to join our outdoor team. You will operate and maintain sewage treatment plants and pumping stations, and run advanced wastewater and sludge processes to meet quality standards.

The role requires unsupervised work in an industrial setting, and mechanical experience is desirable. Training for confined spaces and breathing apparatus will be provided; occasional evenings and weekends are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience working unsupervised in an industrial or process plant.
• Mechanical experience would be desirable.
• Confined spaces training provided; eligible to work in confined spaces.
• Suitability to wear breathing apparatus and navigate tight spaces.

If so, we are looking for a Treatment Operator to work in our Wareham team.

What you'll do

Your role will involve:

• the operation and maintenance of conventional sewage treatment plants and pumping stations to meet quality standards
• running advanced wastewater treatment and sludge process plants
• ensuring compliance with company policy, processes and procedures
• ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all colleagues, the public and yourself at all times
• working outside of normal working hours, including evenings and weekends.

What you'll need

You will need experience working unsupervised in an industrial or process plant.

Mechanical experience would be desirable. Confined spaces training will be provided as part of role, however you will need to be eligible to work in confined spaces.
