Job summary

Wessex Water Services is hiring a Civils Operator for the MHS project. You’ll balance working self-sufficiently with being part of a team, supporting sewer renovation work and protecting the environment.

This regional role covers the Wessex Water region, with training provided on the job, occasional night shifts, and a standby rota depending on projects. The role offers development opportunities and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• You’ll have good communication skills and be confident engaging with both customers and colleagues throughout the business, over the phone and face to face. It would be great if you have an understanding of sewer networks, but training will be provided.
• This is a regional role working all over the Wessex Water region. You may occasionally be required to work outside normal working hours, including an occasional night away.
• The most important thing is your attitude and that you're not afraid of hard work.
• This role may involve you being part of a standby rota dependent on projects.

We will help you get up to speed by providing on-the-job training, regular coaching and mentoring to ensure you can perform the role.

What you'll do

The role of a Civils Operator involves a balance of working self-sufficiently and as part of a team. Our Sewer Renovation team not only repairs and maintains all of the wastewater network, but they also investigate groundwater infiltration and carry out remedial work to protect the environment and the quality of the watercourse.

This position is highly varied and diverse, so there will never be a dull moment. Every day, you will work at different locations to ensure we keep our infrastructure up and running.

What you'll need
