Job summary

YTL UK is seeking an SPS Manager to lead the north SPS operational team, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of sewerage pumping station assets. You will develop a high-performing team, drive improvements and support investment programmes across the region.

Key responsibilities include leading operators and technicians, maintaining safety standards, managing budgets, and coordinating with Control Room and other engineering teams to deliver excellent service and environmental

Qualifications

• Experience leading operational teams.
• Strong knowledge of sewerage pumping stations and associated equipment.
• Understanding of operational risk, environmental compliance and incident management.
• Experience managing maintenance programmes and driving performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead SPS Operators and technicians to deliver safe, reliable operation.
• Ensure health, safety and wellbeing standards for employees and contractors.
• Manage team performance, training, succession planning and development.
• Drive compliance across regulatory requirements.
• Manage SPS maintenance programme, work bank and asset reliability.
• Lead responses to incidents, service failures and pollution prevention initiatives.
• Collaborate with Control Room, Network teams, Optimisation Engineers and Capital Delivery teams.
• Manage regional budgets and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Support capital schemes through design reviews and commissioning.
• Promote continuous improvement through data and asset performance reviews.

Job description

There is an exciting opportunity to join our Sewerage Pumping Station (SPS) team as SPS Manager.

This role is responsible for leading the north SPS operational team, ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our sewerage pumping station assets whilst delivering excellent performance for our customers, communities and the environment.

You will play a key role in maintaining compliance, drivingoperationalimprovements,supportinginvestment programmes anddevelopingahigh-performingteamcapable of deliveringexceptional standardsacrossthe region.

What you'll do

As theSPSManager, you will:

• lead, develop andsupportateamofSPSOperators andtechnicians

What you'll need

We're looking for someone who combines strong leadership skillswithextensiveoperationalknowledge.

You will ideally have:

• proven experienceleadingoperationalteams
• extensive knowledge of sewerage pumping stations, pumps,controlsystems andassociatedequipment
• a strongunderstandingofoperationalrisk,environmentalcompliance and incidentmanagement
• experience managing maintenance programmes and drivingoperationalperformance
• electricaland/orMechanicalqualifications, ideally NVQ Level 3 orequivalent
• a recognisedmanagementqualification, ideally ILM Level 3 or above, or a willingness to work towards one
• sound knowledge of COSHH, DSEAR andhealthand safetyrequirements
• excellentcommunicationandstakeholdermanagementskills
• strong IT skills and experience usingoperationalsystems,telemetryand assetmanagementtools
• theabilityto make effectivedecisionsin afast-pacedoperationalenvironment
• aproactiveapproach to problem solving andcontinuousimprovement
• a fullUKdriving licence.
